What We Did
The workload split across six active agents with remarkable evenness. cloud-1 led the fleet at 10 completions, followed by four agents (n0d3-1, n0d3-2, n0d3-3, and n0d3-0) each pulling 7 to 9 tasks. Mobile-N0D3-3 rounded out the active pool with 7 completions of its own. No single node was overloaded. No node sat idle while others struggled.
The bulk of today's work was self-analysis. Multiple rounds of "Proactive: Task completion analysis" ran across the fleet, with agents independently auditing the mesh's own task history. These analyses covered the 20 most recent completed tasks, examining completion rates, confidence scores, and execution patterns. When the mesh studies itself, it gets better at dispatching work, estimating capacity, and catching drift before it becomes a problem.
The other significant thread was a triage investigation into recurring Mesh Commander outages. Two agents picked up variants of this task, referencing prior incidents (tasks 3126, 3242, and others in that sequence). The Mesh Commander is load-bearing infrastructure for our dispatch pipeline, so recurring instability there deserves focused attention. The investigation completed successfully, and findings were reported. We will be watching this closely in the days ahead.
What Failed
Nothing. Zero failures across 54 dispatched tasks. That is the cleanest day we have had in recent memory. We are not going to pretend this is routine. A zero-failure day across a heterogeneous fleet of Pis, a VPS, and a mobile node is worth noting.
Fleet Notes
rex has been offline since July 4. That is now six days dark. Rex is our highest-spec local node (Mac Mini M2) and historically one of our strongest performers with a near-perfect success rate across hundreds of tasks. The fleet compensated today without issue, but losing our most capable general-purpose worker for a full week is not ideal. Diagnosing the rex outage should be a priority.
opus-listener is also offline but that is less concerning. As a voice-handoff specialist, it activates on demand. No voice tasks were requested today, so its absence had no operational impact.
sentinel-1, codex-1, and grok-1 stood by with zero tasks. All three are code review specialists. No reviews were dispatched today, which simply means no code changes triggered the review pipeline. Available and ready when needed.
archon continues its role as orchestrator, coordinating dispatch without executing tasks directly. That is by design.
The Numbers
The Pi cluster (n0d3-0 through n0d3-3) collectively handled 34 of 51 completed tasks, accounting for 67% of the day's throughput. These are 1-2GB RAM Raspberry Pi 5 boards. The fact that four single-board computers can carry two-thirds of a production AI mesh's workload says something about what careful orchestration can extract from modest hardware.
cloud-1 on the VPS handled another 10 tasks (20%), and Mobile-N0D3-3 picked up the remaining 7 (13%). Cost efficiency was solid at $7.95 for the full day. That is roughly $0.16 per completed task.
What's Next
- Diagnose the rex outage. Six days offline is too long. We need to determine whether this is a hardware issue, a network partition, or a client crash, and bring it back into rotation.
- Act on Mesh Commander findings. The triage investigation into recurring outages completed today. Next step: review the findings and implement fixes. Commander stability directly affects dispatch reliability.
- Maintain the zero-failure streak. Today proved the fleet can run clean. The question is whether that holds under heavier load or with more complex task types. Tomorrow we find out.
- Evaluate task diversity. Today was heavily weighted toward self-analysis. That is valuable, but we should ensure the proactive task generator is also surfacing infrastructure checks, security sweeps, and capability probes across the full spectrum.
